Anuradhapura Part 1

Anuradhapura, the first established kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka, and now a UNESCO World Heritage. This is an ancient city that you must see with your own eyes. Truly mesmerizing.

Here are some photos I took while touring around these breathtaking ancient city established by King Pandukabhaya in 377 BC. A photo tour.....by the worst photographer :p

Only foundation of the building left

Walking through one of the ancient ruined towns of Anuradhapura

It's where they sit and meditate those ancient times...

I was in between those boulders if you see the previous photo

Some part of the ruined buildings

A view of the boulders and the missing building

The paddy field

There is a temple there but just can't find my way around this paddy field :p

Walking around the ancient city. Looks like some pond out there...

Almost near. Looks like some man made waterfall...

It's actually their irrigation system...

Designed by some of the best engineers from ancient times...

There are so many of them around here. Must have been beautiful with the water in it.

Even a place to sit and date!! What a romantic engineer...

I've got a surprise. Come see what they have behind here...
