How To Live Without Fear & Worry - K. Sri Dhammananda

I am currently reading How To Live Without Fear and Worry by K. Sri Dhammananda. Took this book from the buddist temple during my trip to Pagoda Penang.  Good book.

Tells you how to control anger, overcoming jealousy, dealing with criticism, etc. Also there are ingredients for happines and techniques for happy and succesful living.. I haven't reach this part of the book yet.

Just to share a para from the book,

Some people are like letters carved on a rock;
they easily give away to anger and retain their angry thoughts for a long time.

they give way to anger also, but the angry thoughts quickly pass away.

they do not retain their passing thoughts,

Nasi Goreng Kampung

I kind of miss eating nasi goreng kampung from the Mid Valley food court. And also the bubble tea at Come Buy. Maybe tonight I will go hunting for bubble tea in kulim. I wonder what makes a nasi goreng kampung taste so delicious? I guess it must be the anchovies. Everything tastes good when there is anchovies.

Today is a Friday and it's a weekend at my place. So I'm very free today. Checking out facebook and twitter even though there is nothing much on it. Everyone must be busy at work so no status updates and I'm too lazy to update my status. Because my current status is lazying around and checking out on others through FB.

By the way, why is Friday a weekend here? And Sunday is a working day. Sundays are supposed to be sleeping day. A day just to roll on the bed lazily till 12.00 noon. I hate working on Sunday. Hwwwaaaaa........

Anyway, it's Friday and I'm starving, so since I miss eating Nasing Goreng Kampung from Mid Valley food court, I tried making my own Nasi Goreng Kampung. Taste good but wasn't like the one in Mid Valley. Hmmmm....whats the secret ingredient...

Krabi Day One

We arrived at Krabi airport at 3.30pm. Stayed at Anantha Burin Resort at Ao Nang. We bought it from Groupon and the deal was around RM529 for 5 days and 4 nights.

I was satisfied with the hotel service and also the room. It was clean and looked cozy. There were no plans for the first day, It was already 4.00pm by the time we reached the hotel. So we planned to look around for some travel agents for Day Two Trip.

We bought Island Hopping package at the hotel itself. The fee was Rm220 for both of us. after coming out of the hotel, there were a few travel agents along the street where our hotel was. The Island Hoping package was cheaper. Hmm......I thought we were cheated and decided to wait and see how the service will be tomorrow.

Lots of tuk-tuk around this area.....but I prefer my leg... ^_^

It was about time to eat something. I love Thai Food. So next activity was to walk along the streets of Ao Nang and enjoy the breeze and the local food. The first food we tried was some mango salad. I didn't know what it was called but it was super delicious. Just Rm3. There were mango, peanuts, dried prawns, chili and other things in the salad which I couldn't identify. I think I'll call it sweet-sour and spicy mango salad. ;)

We also had different types of sausages mixed with some gravy, which I again don't know what its called. I had a hard time understanding what they were saying even when they spoke in English. But anyway, I don't bother, I just ate and ate and ate.... ^_^

Even dinner was fantastic. We had steam fish with garlic (red snapper... hehee....yummy) and some vegie. Meal will not be complete without vegies. So Krabi Day One Activity was mainly about eating and walking around Ao Nang. There lots of restaurants, bars, cafes and hotels around this area. It's a town made just for tourists.

One word of advise : No buying souvenirs here. Just enjoy the food and activities. It's extremely expensive and by the way you could get most of those things in Pagoda, Penang....haha. If you want to buy some souvenirs just buy the dried food stuffs. It's more worth it.

New Kitchen On The Way

After months of suffering from eating stall food and restaurant food and sometimes starving simply because I'm lazy to eat outside, finally I have ordered my very own stove, fridge and rice cooker. Haaaaaa...I feel relieved. No more outside food. But then again, maybe once in a while, if I'm bored of cooking my own food.

It's time to start cooking, yehaaa. Surfing the net for recipes-for-two. Please suggest me some websites or blogs friends. I even bought easy-Thai recipe cookbook during my vacation in Krabi. Yes I went for vacation and that will be in my next post.

Can't wait to tryout the Thai dishes. I'm extremely excited and can't wait for my kitchen appliances to arrive tomorrow. Nothing like cooking your own meal, and the best part of cooking is the experiments with sugar, spice and everything nice. ^_^

Hahaha......yahooo.By the way...when will tomorrow arrive....?

Keow Teow Basah

Keow teow basah, one of my favourite food in Kulim. It's from a stall at Kelang Lama area. Err... not sure what the place is called because I am a foreigner here. tsk...tsk...tsk

The uncle here sure makes a yummy keow teow basah and it's just Rm 3.50. Yup food is really cheap here and tasty too. So far I've eaten his keow teow basah like 6 times after coming to Kulim. I'm never bored of the taste. Delicious.....slurrrrrrrrrrppppppppsss.

So if you're around Kulim....come try the keow teow basah here. Forgot to take the photo of the stall but don't worry, I took photos of the keow teow basah.... you can smell your way to the stall.

Pause To Ponder

I'd like to share an e-mail I got today. Many of you may have received it before. But it's nice to share something valuble with everyone.

We learn how to lead a life, but we don't build up a meaningful life.

These are times when fast food is aplenty but indigestion also common.

times when huge physiques co-exist with low and bad character.

More leisure but little happiness.

More food but less nutrition.

More double-income families but even more divorce cases.

Many more luxurious houses costing multi-million dollars, but more broken families.

I propose.  In such an era,

You do not keep what you want to do till a specific time to do,

Because the day you are alive and kicking is the specific occasion you should do.

Read more and obtain more knowledge.

Sit in your front veranda and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Do not have to be obssessed with life's mundane needs.

Spend more time with your families and friends,

Enjoy your favorite food.

Travel to places you like to visit.

Life does not depend on maintaining one's existence.

It consists of many happy occasions chained together.

Bring out your crystal champagne glass,

Never keep your best perfume on the shelf.

Any time you want to use it, do so.

Remove "one day", "some day in the future" from your dictionary.

Go now to write that letter

The letter you want to write "one day".

Let us now tell our family that we love them very much.

Do not postpone anything that will bring you laughters, joy and happiness love "till one day".

Every day, every hour and every minute is all very special,

Also, you do not know if it is your last moment of life.

Home Made Chocolate Ice Cream

I tried a new recipe last Friday. It's home made chocolate ice cream!! I got the recipe from my aunt's neighbour and we tried it out. And we had to freeze it overnight before beating it with the cake beater the next day. Yup no need to use the ice cream maker. So here are the photos and the original recipe.


250gm Coffee Mate
1/4 Cup of Sugar (Castor)
1 tsp Milk Powder
A pinch of salt
2 1/2 cup of Fresh Milk
1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
Cocoa powder 2 tsp (Flavour)


1. Mix all the ingredients until even (except the cocoa powder), strain and freeze it overnight.
2. Next day, beat the mixture with cake beater and don't forget to add your cocoa powder. Beat until it's thick and creamy.
3. Serve your home made chocolate ice cream proudly. You can keep it in the freezer and it wont turn into ice. It will be just like the normal ice cream.  


My aunt's neighbour told me that we have to practice making it a few times and only then it will turn out perfect. Guess she is right. We bought 200gm of coffee mate so it's insufficient, that is why my ice cream was melting very fast. Should have followed the recipe exactly.

Another mistake I did was adding the flavour (cocoa) together with all the ingredients. The cocoa didn't mix and I had to use a spoon to crush it and mix it evenly. It took me a few minutes to fix it (to get it even). I was supposed to add the cocoa powder the next day when I'm beating the mixture. 

But nevertheless my ice cream did turn out to be good and tasty. Just needs improvement the next time I do it. :) I've linked this post to Scream 'Ice Cream'! by Daily Cuppa.

Mango Orange Lassi

I've always wanted to make lassi. And finally, I made lassi with mango and orange. Felt really refreshed after having it. It's a recipe made by me after browsing through so many lassi recipes. Try it and enjoy it.... it's a simple and healthy brekfast too.


1. One ripe mango (cut into small pieces)
2. One orange (cut into small pieces)
3. 1 cup of plain yogurt
4. 1 cup of fresh milk
5. 4 teaspoons of soft brown sugar


1. Just blend all the ingredients and it's ready. 
2. Enjoy every sip of this mango orange lassi. Serves 3.

Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert T.Kiyosaki

Recently I have been reading a book about money. It's called Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T.Kiyosaki. I've been looking for this book before this in bookstores but I failed to get a copy of it. 

Three days ago, I was looking around my mini  library at home and to my surprise, I found Rich Dad Poor Dad. Someone at home has been read this book years ago. I am late. Well, I think anyone should get a copy and read this because:

1. I thought that all this while I was rich, but actually I'm very poor!! -.-'

2. It's something you should read and pass the knowledge down to your children, grand children and your great grand children.

3. I learned the difference between asset and liability. I realised my home was in the liability category. Assets puts money in your pocket. Now I'm really worried and regret I didn't read this book earlier.

4. This book teaches you a lot about how to manage your money that you will never learn in school.

5. And the most important thing is, we have to make money work for us instead of working for money. But of course you must first understand clearly how to do it. Not just invest in everything without knowing what it is.

6. I realised all this while I have been working for my employer and my bank (my bank!!!!)without realising it.

I'm still reading this book and the truth hurts and I just want to get out of this 'Rat Race' ASAP!!!

Can You Keep A Secret - Sophie Kinsella

Another masterpiece from Sophie Kinsella. After I read her 'I've Got Your Number', I thought I should just get all her books. It will be a collection. She's just write my kind of books. Hillarious...that's what I want.

So back to this book I recently bought, it's again really hilarious and once you start reading the first page, you never want to stop for a break. You will want to read it till the last page. It's addictive!!!

This book is about Emma Corrigan, who spills her deepest secrets, secrets that you wont want to share with just about anyone on earth, even your dog but she accidentally told all this secret to a man she travelled with on a plane, because she thought the plane was going to crash. It turns out that the man is her company CEO and so...the adventure starts when Emma went to work the next Monday.

It's a must read storybook because when I read each line I can feel how Emma Corrigan felt when her secrets were revealed on national television. That embarrassing humiliating feeling. So go get yours if you haven't read it!! It's worth it.... ^_^.

I Feel Like Poking The Peeking Eye!

I am really annoyed. I kind of saw someone peeking through that slight opening in my cubicle's partition! And that person just pretended to walk around when that person saw me looking at that person....peeking!!

Don't that person knows something called M-A-N-N-E-R-S. Why do you have to hide and peek to see what I was doing? Why don't just come in front of me and ask me what I am doing. Like I won't tell you or like you can't see what I'm doing if you're standing in front of me.

I feel like puking. That's so disgusting!!!! What a horrible attitude for some one of that age (someone elder than me) or someone with a higher ranking to do such a..... horrid thing!! Ewwww...... I hate when people peek at me...or stand behind my cubicle and silently watch me. Like.... you know, a serial killer watching when to strike his victim.

It's uncomfortable and scary. I think I'm going to sellotape that opening. So that this horrible people won't peek at me ANYMORE!!! Annnndddd I feel like poking the peeking eye!

Chicken Soup

Chicken Soup for the soul. The soul that's going to move to a new town soon. It's April already!!! (T_T) I have about 3 or 4 weeks before I move to a new town. I'm so gonna miss Klang. My lovely hometown..... KLANG!!!

I'm gonna miss my neighbourhood. This peaceful place where you can't find it anywhere on earth. I mean, of course you can but to me..... I really love this place. It's so botanical here!! Will miss my lovely room and the best place where I get most of my ideas, my bed!! comfy.

So I made chicken soup to console myself. Chicken soup for the sad soul. But to the new town, see you soon. Lot's to explore and experience.

This soup is a recipe from BABA's soup mixture. I tried and it's quite tasty. More like Indian soup. ^_^

Stir Fry Broccoli

Stir Fry Broccoli is really easy to make. Takes just 5 minutes to cook and it's the best dish to prepare is you're busy.


1. Broccoli
2. 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
3. 1 green chili (cut into small pieces)
4. 1 piece of chicken cocktail sausage (minced)
5. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
6. 1 teaspoon oil
7. 1/4 cup water
8. Salt to taste.


1. First you have to boil some water in a pot. Once the water starts to boil, just add the broccoli into the pot and once it changes colour, take it out.

2. In a wok, heat oil. Add the garlic, chilies and sausage.  Stir the ingredients. Then add water and let the sausage cook for 1 minute.

3. Add the soy sauce and salt. Let it cook for a while and then add the broccoli. Stir and cook for another 3 minutes.

4. Serve hot with white rice. ^_^

Cucumber Raita

Today's menu is Mutton Curry and Cucumber Raita with basmati rice. Simply delicious. Yum!!! Instead of just using the normal cucumber, I also used Japanese Cucumber and tomatoes. 

The Japanese cucumber is greener than the normal cucumber, so my raita looks lovely and tastes good. Appearance is part of what makes our food so appetizing, especially the colours and how you cut your vegies. ^_^


1. Cut tomatoes, cucumber and Japanese cucumber into small pieces into a bowl.
2. Add 2 tablespoon of plain yogurt into bowl and mix. You can add more yogurt if you want.
3. Serve.

The Vow

Watched this movie today. It's this husband and wife who met with a terrible accident, well it wasn't that bad, just the wife sprang out of the window. So she kind of lost her memory and she only remembers her 'during college times' and her family.

Her husband is a total stranger to her. So he tries to make her remember who she is and that they loved each other very very much and bla, bla, bla. But she is totally blur and doesn't remember anything. So you can watch the movie to find out the ending.

Good story. But to me, it's a R-O-M-A-N-T-I-C I was feeling kind of sleepy and... errr bored. No 'hilarious' jokes. Jokes that make you laugh...wakakakakaka. It's just tiny jokes that make you go...haha. So it's not my kind of movie. :)

And so.....hope you enjoy the movie. ^_^

Marmalade from Alice's Shop

I love orange marmalade. Not too sweet and has that slight bitter taste when you bite the orange slices. Here's a special Orange Marmalade from Alice's Shop, Oxford. It's the Alice in Wonderland Shop because it was featured in a part of the original story. Cool!! The orange marmalade is tasty and it was the perfect gift.

Apple Ke Dapple

Craving....craving....craving for Big Apple Doughnut. I had one piece of Big Apple's doughnut for my tea break. That's my favourite Apple Ke Dapple. It's simple and sweet with a little bit of sourish apple chunks in the middle. Love that crispy stuff on top of the doughnut. Wonder what that is? One bite and you'll feel like you're in heaven...doughnut heaven. ^_^

I know it's the same photo repeated. Just want to make your mouth water and your stomach growl and say 'I wan I wan'. Hehehe...! Plus I just discovered a button in my camera to snap photos closer and clearer. So this photos are original and not edited except for the border.
